The short version
- Drop in a song, press Preview, pick a preset. Every slider works live while it plays.
- The classic slowed + reverb sound is about 85% speed with 35–45% reverb. That’s the Classic preset.
- Slowing lowers the pitch, like a record at the wrong speed. 85% speed is about 2.8 semitones lower.
- Download a WAV when it sounds right. The tool stops it clipping.
- Your song never leaves your device. No upload, no account, no watermark.
- Only post what you have the rights to. A slowed version of someone else’s song is still their song.
How to make a slowed + reverb song
- Drop an audio file onto the box or press “Choose a file”. No song handy? Press “Try the demo loop”.
- Press Preview (or the space bar). Click anywhere on the waveform to jump to the chorus.
- Pick a preset. Classic is the safe bet. Dreamy is slower and wetter. Next room muffles the highs and boosts the bass.
- Fine-tune while it plays. Speed sets how slow and how deep. Reverb sets how much of the room you hear. Room size sets how long the echo lasts.
- Press “Download WAV”. A three-minute song renders in a few seconds, named “your song (slowed + reverb).wav”.
Pick the right part. Slowed + reverb works best on songs with a strong vocal and space in the arrangement. Fast, busy tracks turn to soup. If the vocal starts to sound like a sleepy giant, nudge the speed back up towards 0.88×.
Best slowed + reverb settings
There’s no single correct setting, but these are the combinations people use most. Each one is a preset above.
| Style | Speed | Reverb | Sounds like |
|---|---|---|---|
| Subtle | 0.92× | 25% | The original, but moodier |
| Classic | 0.85× | 40% | The TikTok / YouTube standard |
| Dreamy 3 a.m. | 0.80× | 55% | Floaty, sad, nostalgic |
| Next room | 0.80× | 50% | Muffled and bassy, like hearing a party through a wall |
| Vaporwave | 0.75× | 45% | Hazy, retro, slightly woozy |
Why does slowing a song make it deeper?
Because this is the vinyl method: the audio is simply played back slower, so every sound wave gets longer, and longer waves mean lower notes. Speed and pitch move together, exactly like a record on the wrong speed or a cassette with a tired motor. That’s what gives slowed + reverb its warm, heavy feel. Some tools keep the pitch and only stretch the time; it sounds cleaner, but it loses the character.
| Speed | Pitch change | A 3:00 song becomes |
|---|---|---|
| 0.95× | −0.9 semitones | 3:09 |
| 0.90× | −1.8 semitones | 3:20 |
| 0.85× | −2.8 semitones | 3:31 |
| 0.80× | −3.9 semitones | 3:45 |
| 0.75× | −5.0 semitones | 4:00 |
Slowing a song doesn’t make it yours. A slowed + reverb version of a commercial track is still that artist’s recording, and platforms can claim it, mute it or take it down. Use this freely on your own music, your own Suno songs (check your plan), or tracks that are licensed for remixing. This isn’t legal advice, but it is good advice.
Slowed + reverb versions of your Suno songs
This is my favourite use for it. Made a song in Suno that you love? Make a slowed + reverb version too. It’s a second release for TikTok and Shorts, and it often finds a completely different audience. Keep the original key and tempo in your title or description (“slowed + reverb, 0.85×”) so people know what they’re hearing.
You can also ask Suno for the vibe directly, then use this tool to push it further. Here’s a starting style:
Slowed dreamy pop, 72 BPM, heavy reverb, washed-out synth pads, deep sub bass, soft lo-fi drums, airy female vocals with long echo tails, melancholic, nostalgic, late night
Releasing it? Check the loudness with the LUFS meter first, and trim any silence with the music editor.
Why I built this
I'm a guitarist: a Cort, a lot of enthusiasm, roughly twelve notes. I resisted slowed + reverb for a long time. Then I heard a slowed version of one of my own Suno songs and it was, annoyingly, better than the original. The vocal sat lower, the reverb filled the gaps, and suddenly it sounded like 3 a.m. in the best way.
The tools I found wanted me to upload the song, wait in a queue, sign up, or accept a watermark. Your browser can do all of this itself in a few seconds, so that’s what this does. I added a “Next room” preset because every slowed song eventually wants to sound like it’s coming through a wall at a party you weren’t invited to.
How it works, and what it does with your file
Your browser decodes the file with the Web Audio API. The preview runs live: the song plays at the chosen speed, through a gentle bass shelf and a soft high-cut, then splits into a dry path and a convolution reverb. The reverb’s “room” is a synthetic impulse response: decaying noise that darkens over time, like sound in a real space. When you download, the exact same chain is rendered in an offline audio context, checked for clipping, and saved as a 16-bit WAV.
Nothing is uploaded, there’s no account, and the page makes no network requests while it works. Close the tab and it’s gone.
Slowed + reverb FAQ
What is slowed + reverb?
A remix style where a song is played slower (usually 75–90% speed), which also lowers its pitch, with lots of reverb added. It makes songs sound dreamy, sad or nostalgic, and it is hugely popular on TikTok and YouTube.
What are the best slowed + reverb settings?
Start with 85% speed and 35–45% reverb, which is the Classic preset. For a dreamier sound go to 80% speed and 50–60% reverb. Below about 75% the vocals start to sound very deep.
Why does slowing a song lower the pitch?
This tool slows songs the way a record player does: playing the audio slower stretches every sound wave, so everything gets longer and lower at the same time. That deep, warm sound is the whole point of slowed + reverb.
Does this upload my song anywhere?
No. The file is decoded and processed in your browser, and the WAV is created on your device. Nothing is uploaded and there is no account.
What file formats can I use?
MP3 and WAV work in every browser. M4A, AAC, FLAC and OGG work in most. The download is a 16-bit WAV, which you can upload to TikTok, YouTube or a distributor, or convert to MP3.
Can I post slowed + reverb songs on TikTok or YouTube?
Only if you have the rights. Slowing down someone else’s song doesn’t make it yours, and it can still be claimed or muted. It’s safest with your own music, your own Suno songs on a paid plan, or tracks licensed for remixing.
How long does it take?
Previews are instant. Downloading a three-minute song usually takes a few seconds, depending on your device.
Can I speed a song up instead?
This page goes from 50% to 100% speed. To speed a song up, use the sped up & nightcore maker. For reverb with no speed change, use the Reverb only preset.
Why does my download sound a little quieter?
Reverb adds energy, so a loud song can clip. If it would, the tool turns the whole export down just enough to stay clean, and tells you by how much.
